Apple Annie's is a family farming operation located about an hour and a half southeast of Tucson in the town of Willcox. The property consists of two distinct farming locations:

  • Apple Annie’s Orchard: tree-ripened apples, peaches, and pears
  • Apple Annie’s Produce and Pumpkins: delicious sweet corn, melons, pumpkins, vegetables

Open daily between July* and October, you can expect fresh air, wide open spaces, bountiful crops, and fun photo spots.

Passed from generation to generation since 1986, Apple Annie's has continued to grow and expand into one of the most visited you-pick fruit and vegetable farms near Tucson.

GENERAL INFORMATION

Where is Apple Annie's located?

Apple Annie's Orchard is at 2081 W. Hardy Road, Willcox. Apple Annie's Produce and Pumpkins is at 6405 W. Williams Rd, Willcox. The locations are easily drivable between each other (~5 miles) and most people visit both locations during their visit.

What are the hours?

Apple Annie's Orchard is open 8:00am-5:00pm daily (July & August) and 9:00am-5:00pm daily (September & October). Apple Annie's Produce and Pumpkins is 7:00am-5:00pm daily (July & August) and 9:00am-5:00pm daily (September & October). Check the website for updated and special event hours.

The pumpkin patch, corn maze, and sunflower fields are open daily through October 31. Hayrides are on weekends only. Cider donuts are made fresh on the weekends at the orchard location. As always, there is no charge for parking or admission. Pay for any fruit/vegetables that you pick and any activities that you choose to do.

Note that Apple Annie's is only open during the months of the harvest, July – October. Both farms close for the season on October 31.

For all your gift-giving needs, the Apple Annie's Orchard Country Store is open year-round, from 9:00am-5:00pm daily - with the exception of New Year's Day, Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.

Why would I visit Apple Annie's?

  • To pick your own sweet corn, melons, pumpkins, and vegetables
  • To take photos at the MANY photo spots on the property
  • To get away from the city and experience a taste of farm life

  • To purchase seasonal decor and local crafts from the gift shop
  • To eat an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast or apple-smoked burger (weekends only; seasonal)
  • To run through "Arizona's largest corn maze" (seasonal)

How much does it cost?

Admission is FREE, but be sure to bring cash or another method of payment since you may want to take a hayride ($5 for ages 3-103), wander the corn maze ($10 for ages 12+, $8 for ages 3-11, free for ages 2 and under), and/or purchase food & drinks.

What is the parking situation?

Free and plentiful parking is available on a dirt lot.

What should I wear?

Dress for the season. Sunscreen, sunglasses, hats, and lightweight clothing are always a good idea for the summer months. In other seasons, throw a light sweater or jacket in the car just in case! Comfortable, closed-toe shoes are your best bet since you may need to do some walking to find your perfect pumpkin. 

What should I bring with me?

Bring water bottles, cash or a credit card (no checks!), and sunglasses. Apple Annie's provides buckets to collect your pickings and plastic bags for transporting back to your home, but you are encouraged to bring your own boxes for more secure passage of your veggies from the farm to your dinner table.

Are bathrooms available?

Yes. Restrooms for both men and women are available at each location.

Which days of the week are the most and least crowded?

Weekends are generally the busiest - especially Saturdays and Sundays. Weekdays tend to be less crowded.

DINING

Is outside food allowed? Are picnic tables available?

Shaded picnic tables are available at the Apple Annie's Orchard location, but they are reserved for customers purchasing food on-site on busy weekends.

Does Apple Annie's have a restaurant?

There isn't a sit-down restaurant, but Apple Annie's has an order and pick-up window called Orchard Grill. You can view the breakfast and lunch menus here.

Other concessions are also available for purchase - roasted corn on the cob, kettle corn, cider donuts, fudge, and pie.

What restaurants are located NEAR Apple Annie's?

There aren't very many restaurants in the immediate vicinity of Apple Annie's. You'll probably want to pack a picnic lunch, bring plenty of snacks, or plan to eat on-site.

BABIES & KIDS

What ages would be best suited for a visit to Apple Annie's?

All ages! You'll see lots of babies in arms and strollers, kids in wagons, teens in the corn maze, and grandparents holding small hands.

Should I bring a stroller?

Sure! Note that complimentary wagons and wheelbarrows are also available for your use.

Is there a designated area for mothers to feed their babies?

There is not a designated area, but there are benches and chairs that would work well for this purpose.

Are changing tables available?

Yes.

What about my pet? Are dogs allowed?

Due to new federal food safety laws, pets are not permitted. Please leave your pets at home.

FARMING METHODS & PRODUCTS

Does Apple Annie's grow/sell organic produce?

Apple Annie's is not an organic grower, however, they use organic methods of pest control whenever possible. For many years they have practiced Integrated Pest Management (IPM). IPM is an effective and environmentally-friendly pest management program that uses a combination of common sense practices to control pests.

Which of the food items for sale are made on-site?

All pies, fudge, apple butters, and apple breads are made from scratch on-site, as well as Apple Annie's new line of jalapeño jarred goods. The other jarred goods are made by a family operated business that grows the products at their farms.

Can I have my child's birthday party at Apple Annie's?

Apple Annie's doesn't organize parties, but you are more than welcome to call and reserve tables on weekdays and select weekends.

What else do I need to know before I go to Apple Annie's?

  • Be sure to check the harvest calendar to see what is in-season. For example, if you plan to go in October, most of the apples will be gone (or soft), but there will be a bounty of pumpkins and vegetables. Etc.
  • One of the best things about Apple Annie's? The fun photo backdrops! Be sure to bring a camera and your silliest/best poses! In fact, you might want to go crazy and dress for the occasion - overalls, checkered or plaid tops, boots, bandanas, etc.
