The Downtown Tucson Partnership is pleased to present the Downtown Parade of Lights – an annual tradition for the past 19 years!
The family-friendly parade begins at 6:30pm on Saturday, December 20th, and runs for approximately 1.5 hours. Viewers should arrive around 6:00pm to secure their “seats” along the route. The best viewing spots include Armory Park, the Children’s Museum Tucson, and anywhere along Stone Avenue. Feel free to bring your own chairs, blankets, and snacks.
Parking is available at all parking garages and lots throughout downtown, but note that there will be some road closures along the route. Find out more in our recent post about Where to Park in Downtown Tucson.
The 2014 parade is set to include 77 floats – which is approximately 1,700 people in the parade!
- Food vendors will be located at Armory Park and the Children’s Museum.
- If you plan to have dinner before or after the parade, we recommend Agustin Kitchen, 47 Scott, Pizzeria Bianco, and Maynards Market. The HUB is a good stop for ice cream!
- You may want to arrive early to enjoy the Mayor’s Tree Lighting Ceremony at Armory Park at 6:00pm. You can also congregate at Armory Park immediately after the parade to hear the judges announce the winners.
