Fat Tuesday at Kingfisher
March 5, 2019 @ 5:00 pm
The “good times will roll” for the 25th year at Kingfisher for Fat Tuesday on Tuesday, March 5th from 5pm – midnight. The evening featuring live music, classic New Orleans fare, and merriment, signals the end of Mardi Gras, and is the biggest day of celebration in events leading up to Lent .
For Kingfisher Chef /owners Jeff Azersky and Jim Murphy, Fat Tuesday (along with Oysterfest in the fall and Summer’s US Road Trip) is one of their celebrated signature events. They love bringing a bit of New Orleans style to Tucson and participating in this historic celebration with a classic Mardi Gras feast. The menu features a la carte offerings like classic Gumbo, Red Beans and Rice, Jambalaya as well as traditional libations, Hurricanes, Sazeracs and a selection of Louisiana brews like Abita Turbodog. In the spirit of the holiday, guests are offered Mardi Gras beads and a chance to win a Kingfisher t-shirt if they “find the baby” in their “King Cake” dessert. The regular Kingfisher dinner menu will also be available.
The Old Pueblo Jazz Band will kick off the celebration at Kingfisher at 5:30pm followed by Dr Mojo and the Zydeco Cannibals from 8:30 to midnight. Reservations are strongly suggested. Call 520-323-7739.
