On the first Thursday of the month, the Tucson Museum of Art and Historic Block offers extended hours and pay-what-you-wish admission from 5:00pm until 8:00pm. On September’s First Thursday, discover works of art from the Arizona Biennial 2023 and join Biennial artists Safwat Saleem and lydia see as they share insights on archive and memory, discuss their artistic process, share insights on their works in the biennial and discuss how they relate to their larger body of works at 5:30pm in the Stonewall Community Room (pre-register).
The evening will feature art and gallery activities, led by Ami and Laila.
During First Thursdays TMA provides space for emerging and established food vendors throughout Arizona to offer pop-ups and encourage guests to support local businesses and foodie creatives. This month get a taste of Puerto Rican sweets from The Sweet Coquí, enjoy music entertainment, and a cash bar serving beer and wine.
