Free Paper Marigold Workshop at Tucson Botanical Gardens

November 5, 2023 @ 9:30 am - 10:30 am

Free

Join Sandy Luna from Luna’s Paper Designs LLC to celebrate Day of the Dead by making an iconic crepe paper flower Marigold or Cempasuchil Mexican name to decorate your altar. This flower has been for centuries in Mexican culture and traditions during Dia de Muertos. The name was given after the pre- Hispanic Aztec ritual tied to the Goddess Mictecacihuatl or the lady of the Dead who allowed spirits to travel back to earth to commune with family members.
