Over 20 specialty growers of the weirdest and wildest varieties will be showcasing their bizarre, boutique botanicals this year under the shade of the Sonoran Seasons Garden’s ramadas. Meet the growers of these specimens and learn about the evolutionary advantages conferred by even the strangest of features: from dense, curlicue spines on certain cacti to little translucent “windows” in a variety of succulents. Or, talk to the growers about their trade and find out how they care for their living wares.
The Pavilion will feature vendors, artists, and volunteers to help you with wagons to haul around your newest prickly friends. Refreshments will be available for sale from the Bistro and activities will be available for children. Stay into the evening on Friday for Chillin at the Chul, a weekend happy hour for hanging out with friends, food, and fun under the shade trees.
Don’t forget that once you’ve selected your favorites from a plethora of peculiar, edible, showy, and trickster, native, near-native, and exotic species, you’ll be able to pair them with the perfect pot(s) from the greenhouse.
