Night time is the right time for desert dwellers! The desert is beautiful at night and even more so under the glow of a full moon. Enjoy breathtaking views of the night sky and surrounding cityscape.
The hike goes up to the bench on Wild Mustang Trail (Orange trail on the Hiking the Tortolita Mountains trail map) by way of Community Path and Hotel Spur Trails (Dashed Red trail). This hike is approximately 4 miles long with about 900' hard fought elevation gain.
This will be a strenuous hike with a slower pace so plan on 3 - 4 hours. Bring lots of water, wear suitable hiking shoes or boots, bring a headlamp or flashlight, and meet at the Wild Burro Trailhead.
For those looking for an easier hike, there will be an option to hike the Lower Javelina Trail, which is approximately 3 miles long with about 300' of gentle elevation gain.
