Stop the Bleed & Save A Life at Murphy-Wilmot Library

May 14, 2019 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Free

Traumatic injuries can occur anytime/anywhere and can result in fatal uncontrolled bleeding in a matter of minutes if prompt action isn’t taken. No one should die from uncontrolled bleeding, and you can help make sure that doesn’t happen! Bystanders can provide immediate, life-saving assistance in the crucial minutes before Emergency Medical Services arrive on scene. In this course, you will learn the basic skills and tools necessary to stop severe bleeding in an injured person in an emergency situation.

This course is open to the public and is designed for those with little or no medical training to learn how to provide initial bystander treatment in the event of a medical emergency resulting in uncontrolled bleeding.

Presented by Carondelet St. Joseph’s Hospital.

No registration is required, but space is limited. Please come early to secure a spot.
