Inspired by real life astronaut José Hernández, the play examines the challenges Pepito faces in school as the son of migrant farmworkers and how his commitment to learning helps him to achieve his dream. When Pepito watched the Apollo 11 land on the moon, he knew that someday he wanted to be an astronaut. He looked at the world and saw the possibilities not the roadblocks. The same is true for his teacher Ms. Young, who dared to advocate for her students’ dreams. This is one family’s story of determination and destiny and a boy who set out to achieve the impossible.
