Women of the Southern Pacific at Arizona History Museum

March 10, 2020 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm

$4 – $5

Women have always worked for the railroad, but many of their stories have been buried under laws, customs, and traditions–until now. Join Arizona History Museum to celebrate Women’s History Month and commemorate 140 years since the arrival of the Southern Pacific Railroad to Tucson. Jaynie Adams, Curator of Education for the Arizona History Museum, will present a lecture on Women and the Southern Pacific, followed by storytelling from Southern Pacific Railroad engineer Julianne Hurst-Williams.

Julianne Hurst-Williams, a Tucson native, is a retired locomotive engineer and the third railroader in her family. She’s an avid volunteer, frequently with her sister, and enjoys hanging out with her husband and golden retriever.
