Yebonga, the southern white rhino, has a big birthday coming up! On Saturday, April 15, Yebonga will celebrate her 50th birthday. Median life expectancy for southern white rhinos is 36 years old, making this milestone birthday a significant one for both Yebonga herself and her species as a whole.

There will be cookies for the first 500 guests joining in the festivities, thanks to the Narcus Family Trust. Sign Yebonga’s birthday card, sing a festive song, learn about rhinos from Reid Park Zoo’s docents, and take home rosemary seeds (while supplies last) to grow Yebonga’s favorite treat in your home garden. This celebration is free with Zoo admission.
