Most people know that you can check out books, movies, and DVDs at the library. All it takes is a FREE library card.
Lesser known is the fact that you can “check out” museum and performance arts tickets at select locations of the Pima County Public Library system in Tucson. These tickets, called Culture Passes, are complimentary with your library card.
Culture Passes are available on a first-come, first-served basis at the following eight libraries where you can pick them up in person:
- Eckstrom-Columbus Library
- Joel D. Valdez Main Library
- Joyner-Green Valley Library
- Kirk-Bear Canyon Library
- Miller-Golf Links Library [currently closed for renovations]
- Mission Library
- Valencia Library
- Woods Memorial Library
You can check out one Culture Pass per family in a one-week time span. You can check out a total of up to two Culture Passes per family per month.
Each pass is good for free admission for two people. The pass is good for one week from the day you check it out.
Culture Passes are currently available to:
- Jewish History Museum
- Tohono Chul Park
- Tucson Botanical Gardens
- Tucson Museum of Art
- The University of Arizona Museum of Art
A select number of Arts Performance Passes are also available for check-out at Joel D. Valdez Main Library. These passes are good for two tickets to certain shows at the Arizona Opera, Arizona Theatre Company, Tucson Symphony Orchestra, and UA Presents.
For complete details about Culture Passes and Art Performance Passes, see the Pima County Public Library website or ask for information at your local library.
