The Girl Scouts of Southern Arizona will officially kick off their cookie season this Friday, January 18, when troop leaders will pick up their initial delivery of cookies at the Big Cookie Drop. Girl Scouts will then begin making their way door-to-door in neighborhoods on Saturday, January 19, 2013 with sales continuing through March 3rd.
The cost is $4.00 per box and troops have the potential to earn up to 66cents per box. With the money raised, girls can fund service projects, go to camp, and try new activities.
There are six different cookie flavors: Do-si-dos, Samoas, Savannah Smiles, Thin Mints, Trefoils, and Tagalongs.
Maria DeCabooter, Sr. Public Relations and Communications Specialist of the Girl Scouts of Southern Arizona, had this to say about the cookie program, “[it] not only results in yummy goodies making their way to your home, but also teaches girls 5 skills that are used in daily life: goal setting, decision making, money management, people skills, and business ethics.”
WIN SIX BOXES OF GIRL SCOUT COOKIES – 1 of each flavor!
* Note that the winner must be able to pick up the cookies at the Girl Scouts of Southern Arizona Council Office – 4300 E. Broadway Blvd, Tucson.
