Highland Vista Park is a 3.3 acre park in the Highland Vista neighborhood at Broadway & Craycroft in East/Central Tucson.
Although the park is tucked away in a quiet and friendly neighborhood, it is actually open to the public and is a vibrant hub of activity for people who live nearby.
Highland Vista Park is also immediately adjacent to the Highland Vista Pool (part of the Highland Vista Neighborhood Association), a Community Garden (operated by Community Gardens of Tucson), and a Little Free Library.
Highland Vista Park can be found at 5300 E. 7th St (near Broadway & Craycroft) on the east/central side of Tucson.
The City of Tucson has records indicating that this park has been around since 1952.

October thru April are ideal because the temperatures tend to be more moderate than in the summer months. That said, Highland Vista Park can definitely be enjoyed in the summer months too - if you check the weather and plan your visit for the morning or evening.

Highland Vista is a small park and features one covered playground (with three slides and two baby swings).
Yes. There is a covered canopy over the playground. Note that there are a a few gaps between the sails and the shaded areas vary throughout the day, depending on the sun angle.
