Marana Heritage River Park, located at 12375 North Heritage Park Drive, is a vibrant community park with baseball fields, a playground, a community garden, walking trails, grassy multi-use areas, and a farm-themed splash pad.

Just outside of Tucson, the Town of Marana sits on rural land and is known for its thriving agriculture.

Daily: 8:00am - 7:00pm.

As is the case with all Marana parks, admission is free.

There is parking surrounding the splash pad and fields.

What should I bring with me when I visit?

Sun safety is encouraged. Prepare for a perfect day at the park with a hat, drinking water, snacks, and sunscreen.

If you plan to visit the splash pad, bring or wear swimsuits, towels, and water shoes.

What is the best season for visiting the park?

October thru April are ideal because the temperatures tend to be more moderate than in the summer months. That said, Marana Heritage River Park can definitely be enjoyed in the summer months – especially because there is a free splash pad on the premises!

PLAYGROUNDS

How many playgrounds are there at Marana Heritage River Park?

There is one playground that includes multiple slides, swings, a mini rock wall, monkey bars, and a shade covering.

Is the playground shaded?

Yes.

SPLASH PAD

The 4,500 square foot splash pad provides an exciting after school or weekend activity for families. The modern equipment is farm-themed and includes a water windmill, a tractor, and spraying horses.

How clean is the water? Is it chlorinated?

The water is recirculated and treated.

Can I reserve the splash pad for a birthday party?

Reservations for the splash pad are not available, but you can reserve a ramada for an event (see below).

Multiple tables are under ramadas.

Are there trash cans available and easily accessible?

Yes.

Are there BBQ grills?

Yes.

Is there an on-site restaurant or café?

No

What restaurants do you recommend in the area?

There are not very many restaurants in the immediate area, but you may want to try:

  • Nico's Mexican Food, 11855 W. Marana Rd, Marana (2.9 miles away) - burritos, quesadillas, tacos 
  • La Olla Mexican Cafe, 8553 N. Silverbell Rd, Tucson (9.2 miles away) - traditional Mexican plates, beer, wine, cocktails, kid's menu
  • Mantis Gourmet Chinese Food, 8250 N. Cortaro Rd, Tucson (9.6 miles away) - Chinese & Vietnamese staples
  • In-N-Out Burger, 8180 Cortaro Rd, Tucson (9.7 miles away) - burgers, fries, milkshakes

EVENTS

Marana Heritage River Park has the following facilities available for birthdays, weddings, and other special events:

  • Wedding venue with fireplace, lighting, and a catering area
  • Ramada pool barn for events
  • ***No reservations are available for the splash pad area

Ramada reservations

  • Standard Park Ramadas: $12 per hour
  • Standard Park Ramadas with Beer/Wine Permit: $17 per hour
  • Group Ramada: $30 per hour
  • Group Ramada with Beer/Wine Permit: $35 per hour

Field reservations

  • Reservations before 5 pm: $5 per hour
  • Reservations after 5 pm: $8 per hour

COMMUNITY GARDEN

Marana Heritage River Park has community garden plots available for $40 a year. Residents can grow seasonal plants without the use of pesticides on their 400 sqft of land.
