Mildred & Dildred - Attraction Guide

Mildred Dildred Toy Store Tucson | Mildred & Dildred - Attraction Guide

Mildred & Dildred is a small, locally-owned toy store in Central Tucson. Located at Pima & Swan, the whimsical turquoise building with a bright red roof and airy glass displays features toys and games for youngsters. You’ll find rag dolls, puppets, arts & crafts supplies, books by local authors, tea sets, play kitchens, and more. Most of the items are geared to babies up to about age 8, but older children (and even adults!) will also find puzzles, books, games, and decor that will appeal to them.

Though the store isn’t huge in space (3000 square feet), it makes up for it in character. The employees are helpful, kid-friendly, and “goofy” (their words – not ours).

Prices tend to be on the steep side, but the selection is top-notch and the store is locally-owned. Autumn Ruhe, a Tucson native, set up shop in 2007 after getting a degree in art history and working at Mrs. Tiggy-Winkles (a toy store in Tucson that closed in 2011).
