Tucson Botanical Gardens is hosting an “Introduction to Nature Photography” class with Tucson-based fine art photographer Vicky Stromee.
The class will begin with a discussion of basic digital camera operations: program settings vs. manual settings, formats (JPEG and RAW) and formatting, ISOs, pixels and sensors as well as basic camera techniques like lighting, composition, depth of field, shutter speed, and shot selection.
Then, the entire class will head out to the Gardens to take some practice shots and put their knowledge into action. To wrap up the afternoon, class participants will head back to the classroom for some final pointers about post-production adjustments such as cropping, color, and lighting adjustments.
There will be a series of intermediate classes offered in March to build on the principles learned in this class.
