Resort Report: Omni Tucson National Resort

Omni Tucson National Resort | Resort Report: Omni Tucson National Resort

Originally built in the early 1970's, Omni Tucson National Resort is a historic, iconic, and beautiful resort in northwest Tucson...which recently received a completely transformative, multimillion dollar renovation (2023)!

The entire property has been reimagined to offer the premium amenities and modern luxury that the Omni brand is well-known for.

This long-anticipated renovation marks a whole new era for Omni Tucson National Resort,” said general manager Michael Maruca. “The entire property has been transformed, inside and out. Guests will be blown away by our Casitas and Hacienda Suites and we cannot wait to welcome visitors and locals alike to experience our new Mokara Spa and differentiated dining outlets.”

If you haven't visited Omni Tucson in recent years, now is the ideal time to book an overnight getaway or to stop in at one of the new restaurants!

ON-SITE ACTIVITIES

GOLF

As current host course for the Tucson Cologuard Classic and previous host of the PGA TOUR's Chrysler Classic and Southern Arizona Open, the Omni Tucson National Golf Course offers two immaculate courses.

Private golf instruction is also available. Whether you are a brand new player or a seasoned golfer, consider booking a lesson during your stay. We highly recommend Andres Ramos (his teaching style is patient, engaging, friendly, and systematic).

SWIMMING

Swimming and sunbathing can be enjoyed almost all year due to Tucson's marvelously moderate climate. There are two resort-style pools on-site, with private cabanas available for a perfectly peaceful day in the glorious Arizona sunshine.

MOKARA SPA

Omni Tucson National Resort just launched the Mokara Spa. Designed with organic and earthy touches, the 9,000 square-foot, state-of-the-art facility features 12 treatment rooms and a wide variety of services. A full menu of salon services, expanded manicure and pedicure stations, relaxation areas, and an all-new fitness center round out this destination spa and wellness retreat.

OTHER ACTIVITIES

Prefer an active vacation? Three tennis courts, one pickleball court, and a sand volleyball court are also on-property and brand new!

Be sure to talk with the concierge about booking other local activities such as horseback riding, desert jeep rides, hot air ballooning, shopping trips, and hiking.

FAMILY-FRIENDLY

Omni Tucson National Resort doesn't offer a ton for young children. No waterslides, splash pads, game rooms, or kids centers can be found. To put it succinctly, Omni Tucson is family-friendly rather than family-focused.

That being said, Omni Tucson National Resort does offer the Junior Chef program.

All guests, checking in with children 10 years or younger, will receive a complimentary Junior Chef tote. One (1) Junior Chef tote per child at check-in.

In addition, all children, 10 years or younger, who dine at an Omni restaurant* enjoy an Omni Junior Chef Kids Menu, a box of Junior Chef crayons, and a Junior Chef cup.

* Not including Bob's Steak & Chop House

DINING

Omni Tucson is now a hot spot for locals to converge for breakfast (at Terra Cotta Cafe or Desert Farmer), evening cocktails and live music (at The Peak), appetizers and billiards (at Legends Bar & Grill), or a superb dinner (at Bob's Chop & Steak House).

There are FIVE on-site restaurants at Omni Tucson National Resort.

Terra Cotta Cafe is an adorable coffee and to-go shop where you can order your favorite caffeinated beverages from a barista, pick up Tucson souvenirs, and grab a quick meal for the road.

Desert Farmer (in the previous Fiesta Room space) is where you will head for breakfast. Open daily, you can enjoy a carefully curated menu with healthy selections alongside classic breakfast dishes. Menu items range from smothered waffles with jalapeño and cumin bacon to deep-dish quiche with turkey chorizo.

Legends Bar & Grill is open for lunch & dinner and is known for casual club fare and classic cocktails, plus a selection of cigars. Root for your favorite team on a flat screen television or play a game of shuffleboard or billiards while enjoying light munchies and alcoholic beverages.

Bob’s Steak & Chop House is a national chain that prides itself on the finest corn-fed, midwestern prime beef. For nearly 20 years, Bob’s Steak & Chop House has been synonymous in Texas with fine steaks. The Bob’s Steakhouse formula is simple: incredible meat, gigantic shrimp, fabulous salads, and decadent desserts. Open for dinner only.

The Peak is one of the most exciting new additions at Omni Tucson National Resort. Located immediately off the main lobby with beautiful floor to ceiling windows, The Peak is a perfect meeting space for cocktails and hors d'oeuvres. With live music floating through the air and wine glasses tinkling, this is a lovely place to take a date or to venture for a night out with a group of friends.

Great restaurant options to consider off property include: Wildflower, Pappoules, and Tohono Chul Garden Bistro. All three are within five miles of the resort.
