The draft of Plan Tucson, the City’s proposed new General Plan is now available for public comment.
This new General Plan, which is required by State law, will be on the November 5, 2013 ballot for voters to consider ratifying. Plan Tucson will be the guiding document for the growth and development of Tucson over the next decade.
Types of issues covered in the plan include: economic development, parks and recreation, arts and culture, public infrastructure and facilities, the natural environment, revitalization and redevelopment, and land use and transportation. These open houses are part of the ongoing public participation activities to develop the new General Plan.
Five Open House events are scheduled in locations throughout the city over the next six weeks to discuss the Draft Plan. Each Open House begins with a half-hour presentation followed by an opportunity to review the Plan, fill out comment forms, and talk one-on-one with members of the City’s Plan Tucson Team.
The Draft Plan may also be viewed and commented on at the Plan Tucson website: www.tucsonaz.gov/plantucson. Comments received will be shared with the Mayor and City Council, the Planning Commission, and considered in the preparation of the Final Draft Plan.
The Open House events will be held at the dates, times, and locations below.
