Tucson Teens (ages 14-21) – Get a job this summer that will give you career skills and get you ready for college. Plus, earn money in a 30hr/week position!
Available jobs with the Pima County Summer Youth Program include administrative support, clerk, child care aide, recreation aide, library page, patient care technician, and more.
You could end up working at a park, a library, a daycare center, a restaurant, or a retail store!
Program participants are selected based on their applications, assessment scores or transcript, and work interests.
There are two steps to get started:
Applicant must be between ages 14-21 (MUST TURN 14 BY May 20, 2022) and a permanent resident of Pima County. Verification of date of birth and residency will be required during the orientation process.
All teens who are accepted into the Pima County Youth Summer Program will be paid $15.75 per hour.
If you are not currently enrolled in school, you must schedule and take an assessment test.
Note that the TABE isn’t a pass or fail test. Instead, it helps program representatives to know which program might be better suited for that individual. If there is a basic skills deficiency, then students may be referred to a basic skills program where they can attend school and work on improving their reading and math scores. They STILL GET PAID for attending school as long as they complete the program successfully.
Deadline for all applicants to either submit a report card or take an assessment test is March 25, 2022.
If your teen has an IEP or 504 plan in school, please call 520-724-9639 and ask for the disability documentation that needs to be attached to his/her report card or unofficial transcript.
All teens who are accepted into the program must submit a copy of a COVID vaccination card.
The deadline to apply is March 18, 2022 at 5:00pm. Space is limited.
