Tucson Teens (ages 14-21) – Get a job this summer that will give you career skills and get you ready for college. Plus, earn money in a 20-40hr/week position!
Available jobs include administrative support, clerk, child care aide, recreation aide, library page, patient care technician, and more.
You could end up working at a park, a library, a hospital, a daycare center, even the zoo!
Program participants are selected based on their applications, assessment scores or transcript, and work interests.
There are two steps to get started. (1) Submit your application. (2) Email or drop off a current report card or transcript.
Applicants must turn 14 by May 28, 2021.
All teens who are accepted into the program will be paid $12 per hour.
If you are currently not in school, you will need to set up an appointment to take the TABE (The Adult Basic Education) test, which is based on reading and math. Note that the TABE isn’t a pass or fail test. Instead, it helps program representatives to know which program might be better suited for that individual. If there is a basic skills deficiency, then students may be referred to a basic skills program where they can attend school and work on improving their reading and math scores. They STILL GET PAID for attending school as long as they complete the program successfully.
The deadline to apply is TBD. Space is limited. Approximately 1200 students will be selected for 2021.
