Desert Wild Camp. Tucson Botanical Gardens, 2150 N. Alvernon Way, Tucson. Grades 1-2. June 3-7, 8:30am-3:30pm. $195 for members; $220 for non-members. “Desert Wild explorers will discover the fascinating world of desert plant adaptations and ecology (prickly, pokey plants, oh my!).”
Dog Days in the Desert. Humane Society of Southern Arizona, 3465 E. Kleindale Rd., Tucson. Different sessions for ages 6-8, ages 9-11, and ages 12-14. 9:00am-3:00pm, daily. $200 for HIP members; $225 for non-members. “Dog Days in the Desert provides children with in-depth, hands-on education about animal care and the human-animal bond. Topics will include but are not limited to, New Pet Ownership and Responsibility, Animal Handling and Bite Safety, Kindness and Compassion, Pet Adoption Promotions, Domestication of Cats and Dogs, Native Wild Animal Habitat and Ecology, Building Pet Living Areas and Careers.”
Earth Camp. Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum (+ other locations), 2021 N. Kinney Rd., Tucson. Middle School Camp will be held June 17-21 & 24-28, 8:00am-5:00pm with three overnights. High School Camp will be held July 6-17. $750 for Middle School Camp; $1500 for High School Camp. “Earth Camp opens eyes and minds to our unique, interdependent and awe-inspiring planet, drawing connections from our homes, to our region, to the globe, and to what we can learn about Earth from space. Students will learn about the Sonoran Desert ecosystem and current environmental issues while hiking, camping, doing field research, and exploring our beautiful desert. Earth Camp is a partnership between the University of Arizona College of Science, Project WET, the Planetary Science Institute, and the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum.”

July 15-19, 8:30am-3:30pm. $195 for members; $220 for non-members. “Eco Wild explorers will dig into plant and animal connections, conservation and the many wild and woolly career options available in the natural sciences.”

Healthy 2 B Me Summer Camp. University of Arizona Mel & Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health. Ages 7-10 (grades 2-5). Three weeklong sessions are scheduled during the months of June and July from 9:00am to 3:00pm. $345/week. “Campers will learn about wellness through many fun interactive activities that will include; nutrition, cooking, physical activities such as, Yoga, Zumba, dance, and swimming along with Top experts from the U of A and the Tucson Community will be teaching sun safety, dental health, hygiene, community and team building experiences.”
Humane Society of Southern Arizona and Desert Museum Summer Camp: When Dogs were Wolves and Cats were Wild. Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum, 2021 N. Kinney Rd., Tucson. Ages 9-11. July 8-11. M-TH, 8:30am-3:00pm. $225 for Non-Members; $200 for Members. “Take a walk on the wild side of pets as we compare domestic dogs, cats, birds, rodents and reptiles to their wild counterparts. How are our pets’ needs different from their wild relatives’? And how do zoos best care for their animals? Spend two days exploring the habitats and ecology of our pets’ wild relatives at the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum, followed by two days at the Humane Society caring for a variety of pets.”
Museum Explorers Camp. Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum, 2021 North Kinney Rd., Tucson. Grades 1-6. Two Sessions: July 22-25 or July 29-August 1. M-TH, 8:30am-3:00pm. $200 for Non-Members; $175 for Members. “See the museum as you never have before! Museum Explorers will observe live animals, conduct science experiments, make cool crafts, create art with the Museum’s Art Institute, sample desert foods, hike in the desert, and more!”
Pet Vet: Caring for Furry and Four-Legged Friends. Children’s Museum Tucson, 200 S. 6th Ave., Tucson. Ages 6-8. July 15-18, 9:00am-3:00pm. $200 for Members; $225 for Non-Members. “The Humane Society of Southern Arizona and the Children’s Museum Tucson are teaming up to offer a camp focusing on our wonderful furry friends. Each day campers will be able to interact with a variety of live animals and help care for them. On the last day of camp, children will take a field trip to the Humane Society.”
