Put your nose in a book this summer...and earn prizes along the way!
Several Tucson bookstores and libraries offer fun reading programs during the summer months where your children can participate in events and earn rewards.
The Pima County Public Library Summer Learning program typically runs in June and July of each year.
Swing by your local library to pick up a reading tracker and come back beginning June 1 to grab a free book—while supplies last—for your home library. Reading trackers include activities families can do together to boost kids' reading power.
Bookmans Summer Reads: From June 1 through September 1, 2024, pick up a Buy-9-Get-the-10th-Free Bookmans Summer Reads card. Every time you purchase a book, you can get the card stamped. Fill up your card with 9 stamps and turn it in for a free book. Your lucky number is 10! No cards will be handed out after August 15, 2024 and all cards must be redeemed by September 1, 2024.
Read 10: All kids, ages 1 to 17 years, are eligible to participate in the Bookmans Read 10 program. Read 10 books, write 10 book reviews, bring them to your nearest Bookmans location - and you will receive $10 off your next purchase.
Bookmans Kids ClubL Any child from birth up to age 12 can sign up for the club to receive a 10% store discount...PLUS a $10 gift certificate on his/her birthday.
1317: A special club for ages 13-17. Teens receive a 15% store discount and a $15 birthday gift certificate.
There are two Bookmans locations in Tucson - EAST: 6230 E. Speedway Blvd. (Speedway & Wilmot) and RIVER: 4841 N. Stone (River & Stone).
The 2024 Barnes & Noble Summer Reading Program is free and open to grades 1-6. Here's how it works: Read any eight books this summer and record them in your Summer Reading Journal. Describe which part of the book is your favorite (and why). Bring your completed journal to any Barnes & Noble store between July 1 - August 31st and choose a FREE book from select titles.
There are two Barnes & Noble Tucson stores - Eastside (5130 E. Broadway) and Westside (7325 N. LaCholla Blvd).
