JW Marriott Tucson Starr Pass Resort & Spa will kick off the holiday season with its annual tree lighting ceremony on the Meecha Lawn, Thursday, December 1, from 6-8 pm.
The Children’s Choir from Global Change Music will begin their performance at 6:15 pm, followed by a welcome from JW Marriott Tucson Starr Pass General Manager Russ Bond at 6:45pm. A festive countdown begins at 7:00pm, when several “surprise” guests, including Dusty (the Tucson Roadrunners mascot) will help flip the switch, lighting up the 30- foot tree, marking the official start to the holiday season.
Guests of the JW Marriott Tucson Starr Pass Resort & Spa and members of the greater Tucson community are invited to join in this family-friendly celebration and to enjoy complimentary hot chocolate, hot apple cider, and cookies (while supplies last), plus an array of holly jolly activities for all ages.
Participants are asked to bring a new, unwrapped toy for donation to Casa de los Niños, which will also benefit from the Community Tree in the lobby, where guests can paint a crystal globe ornament to hang on the tree in exchange for a $1 donation. Starr Pass will generously match donations dollar for dollar.
Event participants are welcome to make reservations for dinner after the ceremony at Signature Grill or Primo, or relax by the firepit on the Salud Terrace and enjoy their favorite beverage or hot toddie.
