Tucson Jewish Community Center | Attraction Guide

The Tucson Jewish Community Center (JCC or The Tucson J, for short) is a 98,000-square-foot facility that is open to the Tucson community of all faiths.

In addition to a robust schedule of events ranging from arts & culture to sports & wellness, the Tucson JCC also offers a full fitness facility and more than 100 weekly fitness classes. Your membership includes access to all of the above - plus a swimming pool, baby/tot pool, and one of the best splash pads in town!

A privately funded, play-based daycare and preschool (ages six weeks to pre-K) is also on-site.

The Tucson Jewish Community Center is in North-Central Tucson at 3800 E. River Road.

What are the hours?

The Tucson Jewish Community Center building hours are as follows.

  • Sundays, 7:00am-8:00pm
  • Mondays-Thursdays, 5:00am-10:00pm
  • Fridays, 5:00am-6:00pm
  • Saturdays, 7:00am-6:00pm

The pool, splash pad, indoor playspace, and cafe have slightly different hours.

How much does membership cost?

There are quite a few different membership categories to choose from: Family, Single Parent Family, Young Couple Family, Couple, Individual, Young Adult, Teen, etc. Fees range between $39-$109/month with either a 6-month or 12-month commitment.

If you want to test out the facility on a trial basis, you can try it for a day for free or a week for $35. When you join, that $35 would come off your membership dues.

Can I get a day pass or punch card instead?

Yes. Guest passes are $10 per person per day.

DINING

Is outside food allowed?

No outside food is permitted.

What dining venues are available on-site?

Café @ the J, located inside the Tucson JCC, serves snacks, breakfast, lunch, and dinner...at super reasonable prices. Example: enjoy 2 eggs with fruit and toast for just $3.50. Lunches and dinners range in price between $5.50-$8 - sandwiches, salads, quesadillas, and tacos. Open to members and the general public. Hours are 7:00am to 6:00pm (Mon-Thurs), 7:00am-4:00pm (Fri), and 9:00am-5:00pm (Sun). The cafe is closed on Saturdays.

What is the gym like? What machines are available?

You'll find a full fitness facility at the Tucson JCC with all the machines you would find at most local gyms. Locker rooms and showers are also available.

EVENTS

Can I have my wedding or special event at the Tucson JCC?

Yes! There are several different venues available for rent – the 6,500 square foot Catalina Ballroom (a state-of-the-art media arts center with cinema quality sound and a 22′ x 22′ screen), three additional meeting rooms, or outdoor sculpture garden.

Can I have my child's birthday party at the JCC?

Yes! The Tucson JCC offers a variety of party packages: Bouncing Birthday Celebration (with bounce house and inflatable slide), Swimming or Splash Park Parties, Scavenger Hunt Parties, Karaoke Parties, and more.
