Tucson Mayor Regina Romero, Ward 3 Council Member Kevin Dahl, and Tucson Parks and Recreation will kick off construction on improvement projects for Christopher Columbus Park. The event will take place Monday, Dec. 11, at 5 p.m., at the north end of the park, 3495 W. El Camino del Cerro. Key projects under construction are new LED lighting on two existing little league fields, new baseball field with LED lights, two new soccer fields with lighting, new restroom facilities, and expansion of the existing parking lot. In addition, the City allocated $125,000 in Impact Fees, and $1,300,000 in Investment Funds. Construction is expected to be completed by December 2024.
