GIRLS JAZZIN’ IT UP
The Tucson Jazz Music Foundation is sponsoring an all-girls (ages 10-17), tuition-free, three-week jazz music intensive program scheduled for the first three weeks in June, Mondays-Thursday, 9 am-noon.
Girls will learn to play ‘jazz’ and gain confidence in expressing themselves through ‘improvisation.’ In addition to playing their instrument, they will learn about the history of jazz with a slant towards women in jazz, plus hear from local female jazz artists, and a learn about empowering strategies from international speaker Emily Eldredge.
