Where to Buy School Uniforms in Tucson

Do you have a child who attends a school that requires school uniforms? We've got the scoop on where to find uniform pieces around Tucson.

Here's the list - in alphabetical order.

Burlington Coat Factory

A leading off-price apparel and home product retailer, Burlington Coat Factory offers name brand merchandise for up to 70% off department store prices...including school uniforms! Individual pieces start at $4.99 - by Eddie Bauer, French Toast, and U.S. Polo Assn. Note that the inventory is constantly changing and school uniforms are not always available.

  • TWO Tucson Locations: El Con Mall and 3660 S. 16th Avenue

GAP features a Uniform Shop w/ polos, button-ups, flat-front shorts, khakis, jumpers, skirts, and cardigans. At full price, the pieces can be spendy...but, when you hit a sale, stock up. One TucsonTopia reader reported buying a backpack off-season for under five bucks.

  • TWO Tucson locations: Park Place and Tucson Mall

Upscale kids retailer Gymboree offers a limited selection of uniform pieces, including some adorable accessories, coats, and shoes. Expect to pay $15-$25 per piece in peak season, with deals to be had after the school year has begun.

  • THREE Tucson locations: Tucson Mall, La Encantada, and a Gymboree OUTLET at Foothills Mall

A relative newbie to Tucson, H&M offers trendsetting clothes at rock-bottom prices - including some pieces that will work for school uniforms (even if they aren't billed that way). You have to watch the website like a hawk because sale items sell out fast.

  • TWO Tucson locations: Park Place and Tucson Mall

JCPenney mostly sells the IZOD brand of school uniforms, available in sizes 4-16. You can also find the French Toast brand at Penney's.

  • THREE Tucson locations: El Con Mall, Tucson Mall, and Tucson Spectrum

You'll find the Chaps brand at Kohl's - a big box department store where the school uniform selection tends to be small. That being said, Kohl's has quite a loyal following and some shoppers love the "Kohl's cash" concept.

  • THREE Tucson-metro locations: 199 N. Pantano Road, 7785 N. Oracle Rd in Oro Valley, and 5850 W. Arizona Pavilions Dr.

Old Navy

Known for having less expensive (and lesser quality) items than their sister-store GAP, Old Navy has school uniforms at some of the best prices in town. It's not uncommon to find polos for five bucks; pants and dresses for ten.

  • FOUR Tucson locations: Park Place, Tucson Mall, Tucson Spectrum, and and an Old Navy OUTLET at Foothills Mall

Ross Dress for Less

Similar to Burlington, Ross is an off-price retailer - top brands for 20-60% off the department store prices. At both stores, you may have to scavenge through disorganized aisles and make your way through large crowds. Even so, there are definitely deals to be had for treasure-hunters. Online shopping is not currently available.

  • TEN Tucson-metro locations: stores at El Con Mall, Campbell Plaza, Circle Plaza, Grant & Craycroft, Oracle Ridge, Westpoint Crossing, Old Spanish Trail Marketplace, Foothills Mall, Rooney Ranch Center, and Sahuarita.

Sears' School Uniform Shop mostly features items by the store's partner-brand - Dockers. Although perhaps not as on-trend as boutique shops, Dockers pieces are comfortable, durable, well-made, and affordable.

  • TWO Tucson locations: Park Place and Tucson Mall

Target has everything, right? Including school uniform pieces starting at $8 a pop! Brands include Cherokee, French Toast, Dickies, and C9 by Champion. You can shop online and get free store pickup to streamline your shopping experience.

The Children's Place

The Children's Place bills itself as being "the place for uniforms and backpacks." You'll find shirts, skirts, shorts, pants, polos, and accessories galore. Bonus - toddler sizes are also available! Sign up for the free My Place Rewards program to earn points toward free gift certificates.

  • THREE Tucson locations: Park Place, Tucson Mall, and a Children's Place OUTLET at Foothills Mall
